Something New at Back Bay Block Party – Exclusive VIP Experience; Something New at JP Block Party – Live Musical Performances

BOSTON, Mass.– Boston Pride announced today that it will be hosting Block Parties in Back Bay and Jamaica Plain on Sunday June 15th in celebration of Pride Week. The Back Bay Block Party will be from noon to 8 p.m., complete with entertainment, food and an exclusive VIP Corner. The Jamaica Plain party will be from noon to 7 p.m. and will feature live music, food vendors and the much anticipated return of Divas, Dogs & Drag Show & Adoption event.

“Once again Dyke Night Productions is a partner with Boston Pride to produce a spectacular block party in Jamaica Plain,” said Dyke Night Productions Founder Kristen Porter. “This year, the JP Block Party will be rocking with three live musical performance and DJ Jodi spinning great tunes. It’s also our third year for the popular Divas, Dogs and Drag Show and Adoption event where our community has shown overwhelming compassion in helping to find homes for rescue dogs.”

The Back Bay Block Party will feature entertainment headlined by gay circuit superstar DJ Phil B, from San Francisco, CA. Boston-based DJ and producer Joe Bermudez will open the event. New this year is the VIP Corner which offers guests exclusive perks during the party, allowing them to avoid lines and enjoy special amenities. VIPs will receive expedited red carpet entry to the event, a meet and greet with the DJs, a complimentary glass of champagne, bottle service and a private bar with premium liquor. Guests will also be granted access to the stage, reserved seating and private bathrooms. There are a limited number of tickets available for the VIP Corner that can be purchased prior to the event online for $50, or at the door (if available) for $75. General admission to the event is $15. The event is rain or shine.

In Jamaica Plain, Boston Pride is again partnering with LGBT event producer Dyke Night Productions, for the annual Jamaica Plain Block Party at Perkins Street. The event features seven hours of entertainment including live musical performances by Indie rock artist Kristen Ford, 90s cover band Chemical 13, new world soul artist Zili Misik and mixes by DJ Jodi.  Don’t miss the return of Divas, Dogs & Drag Show & Adoption event in its third year, featuring rescue dogs available for adoption courtesy of PAWS New England and showcased by some of Boston’s celebrity drag queens and kings. There will also be food and retail vendors. There is a $10 donation to Boston Pride and the event will take place rain or shine.

Boston Pride Week 2014 will be held from June 6th through June 15th. This year’s theme is “Be Yourself, Change the World.” The week will kick off with the annual Flag Raising ceremony, and will also include, Pride Day @ Faneuil Hall, Pride Queeraoke, Pride Night at Fenway Park, the Boston Pride Parade, the Boston Pride Festival, the Pride Youth Dance, the Back Bay Block Party and the JP Block Party.
