BOSTON, MA – The Rainbow Times LGBTQ newspaper printed out of Northampton, Massachusetts but serving all of New England has won the Official Bid and thus has become Boston Pride’s Official Media Partner – for the second year in a row, according to TRT officials.

This Media partnership with Boston pride also renders The Rainbow Times as the Official producer of the 2012 Boston Pride Guide—the only Guide that gives back to Pride (partial proceeds go to fund Boston Pride projects).

“We feel a high sense of community responsibility and winning such a bid makes all of us at TRT very proud to work with Boston Pride again in a relationship that continues to grow through the years,” said Nicole Lashomb, Editor-in-Chief, TRT. “Last year we produced three of New England’s main Pride Guides–the Boston Pride Guide, Connecticut Pride Guide and Northampton Pride Guide–along with other special projects such as the Boston Pride Map, and the Latino Pride Guide.”

As the official designer & producer, this glossy magazine, will be the go-to source for all official Boston Pride-related information, events, performances, activities, etc. This official guide has the lowest rates around and is the only one that gives back to Boston Pride. Last year, The Rainbow Times produced the Official 2011 Boston Pride Guide, and Map.  The Guide was inserted in TRT’s June, 2011 issue and also delivered to every Boston Pride event during Boston Pride week. The Official 2011 Boston Pride Map, a foldable glossy, pocket-size piece, was handed out during P-Town’s Memorial Day weekend and all through Boston Pride week. This year won’t be the exception! The 2012 Boston Pride Map will debut in P-Town during Memorial Day weekend (starting May 24th) and will be distributed elsewhere after that.

“The Official Map was a piece that offered much-needed information about the Parade Route on one side and the scheduled official Boston Pride events, on the other side,” said Graysen Martínez Ocasio, TRT Publisher. “This year, the Map will also be featured in TRT’s Boston Pride issue, hitting the stands on May 31st. Due to its convenient size, and efficiency, people used this map throughout Boston Pride Week. Having such a small piece with so much crucial information about the week’s events is a convenient way to consistently access such information.”

Boston Pride 2012 takes place this year from June 1-10th. The Rainbow Times will cover all of Boston Pride’s official events, will have Official Pride Guides & Maps at them, and its staff will be on-site covering the week’s events leading up to Pride Day and its closing.
